KCPA Print & PDI Exhibition 2022

KCPA PRINT AND PDI EXHIBITION 2022. In 2020 the KCPA had to cancel the Print and PDI Exhibition due to Covid restrictions. Whilst in 2021 we were able to hold the PDI section of the exhibition and show it on a slideshow online via youtube. It was great to finally see back the usual annual KCPS Print and PDI exhibition for 2022. The exhibition opened for entries in February and closed in March. It was very encouraging to see some members entering the exhibition for the first time this year, and of course great to see back those regular members that enter every year, and you get to recognise their work as soon as it is put in front of you. Stats for 2022 The KCPA realises that some members still aren't doing prints but it was good to see a good entry and the images coming in each day to myself via the competitions@kcpa.co.uk email, post, or via wetransfer if PDI's. In total 120 club members entered the exhibition.

Selection Weekend :   The selection weekend took place on 2nd and 3rd April at Detling Village Hall.   Unfortunately this year we kept it to a minimum with no audience and only a handful of helpers. We hope in 2023 that we are able once again to throw the doors open to audience members. Our Selectors scored 770 prints, and 995 PDI's using their 2-5 buzzers to score each of the images out of 15. OUR SELECTORS My sincere thanks go to those that helped over the weekend either on Saturday when the PDIs were scored or on Saturday when the prints were. Namely, Alan Cork, Alan Lomakin, Chris Shore, Doug Hughes, Pen Lewington, Rupert Brun and Steve Carroll. Our selectors Ann McDonald EFIAP/g DPAGB ARPS, Jean Brooks EFIAP/b BPE2* and Glyn Edmunds ARPS. APSA, EPSA, EFIAP/g each did an amazing job of getting through the images entered in the exhibition. Jean and Glyn the KCPA welcomed back after they last selected for us in 2015).

Don’t forget in 2022 it is from Accepted Prints in the KCPA Exhibition, that images are chosen to go forward to represent us in the PAGB Inter Federation Competition in June 2022 Thank you to all of you that joined in the exhibition. Hopefully, I will see you at Creek Creative during the exhibition showing. WEBSITE FOR THE VENUE It has been decided not to do a Presentation evening, instead, certificates, ribbons, and medals will be posted out to our award winners or put into their return print boxes after the exhibition has closed. PDI ACCEPTANCES
**List of accepted Prints, along with award-winning images coming soon.** I would personally like to thank the many exhibition entrants for their kind emails of thanks, it is appreciated. I believe, as exhibition coordinator, I have one of the best role's on the committee, in that I see the images first hand and like nothing better than seeing more of them coming in. Why not put a new folder on your desktop and spend the next 11 months adding your best images to it, in preparation for the KCPA Exhibition 2023. It would be great to see even many more images coming in next year. Collecting Prints - Prints and boxes will be available to collect week commencing 23rd May from myself. Please email competitions@kcpa.co.uk to arrange the collection of your prints. It would help if collecting your own prints you also take them of your fellow camera club members. With Thanks. Tracy Hughes KCPA President & Competition/exhibition Coordinator.
