The Details for the “Striking” of the Exhibition, sent to all Associates
Hi All, Alan Lomakin will not be available to supervise the taking down of this year’s exhibition and I have been ‘volunteered’ to try to do so, with your help, please. I need at least one volunteer (preferably two) from each Associate / Club with prints hung (that were hung at any time) during this year’s exhibition. Please also bring your collecting PRINT BOXES. You are asked to be able to take ALL your prints away at the completion of the taking down process.
The date is Monday 11th June.
The time is 10.00am and the place is the Maidstone Museum on St. Faith’s Street, ME14 1LH. Park at the nearby Fremlin Walk Car Park accessed from Earl Street. Please bring small head screw drivers with you to be able to take the framed pictures down.
The plan:-
Working in teams we shall take the currently hung pictures down and add in the previously hung pictures (currently stored at The Museum). Then carefully remove the mounted prints from the KCPA frames. The frames will then be packed into cardboard boxes (being provided) and the prints once all gathered (including those previous hung) will be sorted and handed back to each Associate/Club representative to take away at the end. You will be provided with a list of your entries for you to check before you leave the museum please. The boxed frames will be loaded away by the KCPA Team / others. With your help and co-operation, not only will we have lots of fun, but we will get the whole operation done in less than two hours ! In the meantime please continue to enjoy the best photo exhibition in town – over 11,000 visitors so far we are told ! Thank you, Peter.
