Roger Parry, MPAGB, ARPS, DPAGB, EFIAP, HonPAGB
Assisted by Judith Parry, DPAGB, AFIAP, HonPAGB
The main focus of both Roger & Judith’s work is Portrait and Art Nude. Roger has given studio lighting demonstrations for the Former Jessop School of Photography and the RPS.
Each day the workshop will start with Roger & Judith showing a selection of their work with an explanation of how each picture was achieved.
Following this short talk Roger will demonstrate how to set up lighting for both High Key and Low Key lighting, using studio flash together with light modifiers. This will show how different moods can be created.
After lunch photographers will have the chance to photograph the two models present with Roger setting up the lighting and re-creating the effects demonstrated in the morning session.
£75 each day (Lunch is included in price)
Co-ordinator for event is Gary Carter via email@example.com
DAY CLOSED FOR BOOKINGS – FULL
Richard Walton’s advice…
*** THIS IS NOT TO BE MISSED *** for those working at or aspiring to portraiture at a higher level, and is good for beginners and advanced workers! amateur and professional. For those who don’t know Judith and Roger, here’s a little background for you. Basically, they are Mr and Mrs Smethwick, in that they effectively run both the club and the International Salon. Roger’s career was spent with Patterson, hence his in depth knowledge of lighting techniques and advanced portraiture. He is a superb tutor. I sat in on one of his sessions when we both were speakers at a University of Wales seminar at Lampeter around 15 years ago. Subsequently I’ve worked with him at the RPS and been a guest at Smethwick on a number of occasions. Both he and Judith are lovely people who know what they’re talking about and there work can be seen regularly in the highest end of the exhibition and competition circuits. And all for the price of a good night out.
