Copyright stuff:

The PAGB and the RPS have issued documents about the copyright of music as applied to AVs and the prospective legislation about 'Orphan Works'. The latter is of the utmost importance to us as photographers and needs to be made known to all clubs and members, it will almost certainly affect how we display our photo galleries.

Resizing Actions {July '09 Upgrade}

Following a request from the Chilterns Association, we have upgraded the actions to allow for alpha channels in an image. If you don't know what an alpha channel is, don't worry, the change won't make any difference to you.

{Also, please note that at the recent Delegate's meeting it was decided to project images in the srgb color space rather than the familiar Adobe rgb '98. John Bowsher has therefore adjusted the actions below to comply.}

With the advent of Photoshop CS4, Actions R Us are at last able to bring together two sets of actions which will work on Photoshop 6, 7, CS, CS2, CS3 and CS4 and will, we hope, assist you in preparing your images for digital projection. You will find an instruction sheet, {which we strongly recommend you download and read first} and two sets of
actions for you to download. One set will allow you to resize your images one at a time and the other will
allow you to 'batch' process a number of images at once. These actions cover most of the requirements you are likely to meet at the moment. For technical reasons, we've had to 'zip' the files, to unzip them, click on the link, in the next box, choose to 'save' and a place to save them, for example, the desktop. Then go to your desktop, double click on the little brown folder with the zip on it. At the left of this box you will see the command 'Extract all files', double click on that and the unzip wizard will appear. Follow the instructions and save your action in the newly made Action folder that is described in the Instruction sheet. These unzipping instructions may vary slightly according to the version of Windows you are running.
